At GCC, we work with different types of partners to make a difference. We first started to work with the education sector – universities, colleges and schools. This has to do both with our own location at a university, and also with our belief that students are our most strategic resource in creating a more just and sustainable economy. While we our thankful to all the education institutions and student organizations that we work with, special mention has to made of the York University Bookstore, with whom we have a close working relationship. They were our first customer and have continued to support us in a wide variety of ways over the years.

We also work closely with various other affinity buyers who share similar values of social justice and sustainability. These include other co-operatives, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with a variety of different missions, community organizations, faith groups and public institutions. Of course, we also collaborate with fair trade organizations, including Fairtrade Canada and the Canadian Fair Trade Network, and the many organizations that are also members of these networks (including other fair trade businesses and advocacy organizations).
